Well, just walked through the door from my flight home from Los Angeles. Flipping through some mail from the week, and what do I see but a letter from the state of Utah. Opened it up and my non-resident, concealed firearms permit was in there with a letter stating I was approved.
I applied for it simply because it offered some redundancy in other states, as do other permits from other states. To see where your CCW may or may not be good, go to Handgunlaws.us, and click on the state you have your CCW in.
Good idea, getting gun permits in other states!
@Apartmmentprepper — In PA where I am from, the permit is good in about 35 states, as the Utah, and Florida are similar. You can get a non-resident Florida permit, by taking an NRA class, qualifying, and then applying to the state. Assuming your FBI check comes back okay, you should get it without an issue… I am sure TX is good in other states as well… I have to get Florida next, and this should put me legally in about 40 states to carry concealed.
If a SHTF or worse scenario happens I don’t think having a permit is going to be of big concern.
MasterPo — true, but I figure while times are good, it cannot hurt either.
