I’m sitting in another damn airport.  Not bitching, however, just another damn airport.  I have to rant a bit.  The time is now.  The time is now if you are not a prepper to prep.  The conversations I have had with friends who are in the real world (Middle America) verifies that now is the time and it is not too late.  I am not sure when it will be too late, but if you are thinking about prepping, are prepping, or are getting a handle on skills for the coming collapse, whenever and whatever it may be, I am telling you it is time to accelerate your preps

With several friends who for all intents and purposes are responsible, self aware, adults, that have been hit by our mild to severe economic downturn, I am more sure than ever that not just for natural disaster, but that manmade disaster in the form of economic downturn is coming.  In what way I do not yet understand, but it is coming.

If you have already been hit by the economy, I feel for you.  I feel deeply.  But I am asking you, begging you to go out and buy that extra bag of rice, or 10 cans of soup for $10.00 on sale this weekend if you can afford the 10.00.  It will ensure there is another meal in your home for you and/or your family.  Spend five dollars for that five pound bag of rice.  It will give a family of two, supplemental nutrition for an additional 12 days if you follow the portion control directions…  It’s not much, but it will help.  When I get home, I am heading to the store to spend another 25.00 — $50.00 on preps.  Maybe I will stretch it to 100.00 to fill in some gaps I know I have in existing preparations.  But please try to insure yourself against coming inflation as well as coming downturn or disasters.

I have great hope that in 2012 we will begin electing an official that can help turn our economy around.  I am also fearful that the damage is done and 2012 is going to be an economic mess for our country.  The damage may already be done, but it is a wait and see situation.

I am sure not everyone is in a dire situation.  I a sure there are those that are doing VERY well for themselves.  I applaud them, however they too can be hit, and are not immune.  Some of that has hit NJ where I live.  It’s hard to see with McMansions everywhere.  There is a multi-million dollar home around the corner from my office in central NJ that has been empty for over a year.  I am sure that the realtor is trying to unload it as a ‘short sale,’ and in this economy that is a joke, because no seller wants to assume the debt on a home that is upside down when they are trying to unload it.

I know this may sound doom and gloom, but I am fearful.  Very fearful for those I know, and those I do not…
